Email Notifications and Alerts
🕮In VALT 6.3, Email Notifications and Alerts were added as a feature to VALT.
⚠A valid SMTP server must be configured under Settings -> Email Settings to use these features!
Overview
In version 6.3 of VALT, two new features have been introduced: email notifications and email alerts. These tools allow users to stay updated on key activities within the system via email.
- Email Alerts:
- Notifies when a camera goes online/offline.
- Email Notifications:
- Informs about shared recordings or comments.
Email Alerts
Email alerts notify users when a camera goes offline and when it subsequently comes back online.
To enable this feature:
- Go to your profile settings.
- Check the box for Send email alerts.
Once enabled, the system will automatically send you emails alerts when camera statuses change.
✎Ensure you have a valid email address on file.
Email Notifications
Email notifications are triggered when a session is shared with you or a comment is directed at you.
The frequency of these notifications can be customized in the profile settings, but they are only sent for unread items. If you've already seen the notification within VALT, no email will be sent.
To enable this feature:
- Go to your profile settings.
- Check the box for Send email notifications.
Once enabled, the system will automatically send you emails for any unread VALT notifications.
