Start/Stop Button

Hardware Configuration

First, wire the button to the desired camera's IO Phoenix connector. If you are using buttons supplied by IVS, the wires should be connected to the back of the button, as shown in the diagram below.

Recommended wiring for buttons using 22/4 shown below:

Software Configuration

You will need to log into the software with admin rights and navigate to the Admin section then click on Rooms.

  1. ) Select the room.
  2. ) Check the Use I/O box.
  3. ) Select what camera the I/O wiring is tied into.
  4. ) Select a user - All I/O recordings in that room will be considered authored by that user.
  5. ) Select Start/Stop in the command field.
  6. ) Enter Port Number 1.
  7. ) Click Add Command.
  8. ) Select Record Indicator in the command field.
  9. ) Enter Port Number 2.
  10. ) If it is a PTZ camera, you can have the camera move to a preset at the start of the recording.
  11. ) Press Save to enable I/O button recordings.

In the User Groups make sure the I/O User's group has video access to every group

Log into VALT as an admin and click the Admin tab

Click on Users and Groups and click on the IO Group

Scroll to the bottom and click the Check all on the video access

Camera Configuration

  1. ) Navigate to the IP of the camera.
  2. ) (In the old navigation view) Go to Setup in the top right; then System Options.
  3. ) For Allow Password Type, select Unencrypted Only.

  4. ) Navigate to Ports & Devices.
  5. ) Change Ports 2 & 4 to Output (if it hasn't already been done).

  1. ) (In the new navigation view) Go to Settings; then System; then Plain Config.

  2. ) Scroll and select Network.
  3. ) Under HTTP, Authentication Policy, select Basic. Scroll to click Save.

  4. ) Also head to System > I/O Ports.

  5. ) Change Port 2 to Output.
