Camera is Black and White
In some instances you might run into an instance when your camera stream is black and white. This is caused by an IR-Cut Filter.
What is an IR-Cut Filter
IR-Cut Filters are used in cameras for producing accurate color images. They help to block the transmission of the infrared light and help to pass the visible light.
They work by filtering out unwanted IR light to prevent it distorting daylight image colors, presenting them as much more true to life. When the camera is operating in night mode, the IR-cut filter cuts out to allow the light sensitivity of the camera to reach down to very low lux levels.
✎Sometimes the camera will leave the cut filter off, even when there is enough light in the room and no IR lights are needed.
How do I stop this?
It makes sense that one would not want to record there sessions in black and white, like an old Charlie Caplin film. The camera has a setting that can leave the cut filter on, disabling the 'black and white' mode.
Since this setting is at the camera level, it is often not a feature that can be modified by most users. Contacting the IVS Support Team is the recommended path for adjusting this setting.
