HOW TO SET AUDIO IN TESIRA FORTE’S FOR SOUTHEAST

    • May need to reboot expanders to push firmware updates to them. All Tesira Forte’s are updated**

Audio: Much of the work is done. EQ’s are an estimate though – you should set EQ’s by critiquing the audio within the rooms. It is not usually necessary to EQ any camera software talkback lines.

Enable phantom power on the input blocks for shotgun mics and MX202 mics. VERY IMPORTANT: Power the Verifact D’s from a camera.

SETTING LEVELS – 3 PEAK METERS: 1. Input meter - should peak at 0dB with close/loud talking; loud noises (door slamming etc) should never reach the red section (+24dB)

   * Remember to test software talkback to set those levels as well

2. Meter leading into compressor - talking should average around -18dB. Quiet/far talking should be at least -36dB. Loud/close talking should be about 0dB. Use the level block preceding the compressor to adjust. For software talkback lines, all audio should be between -36 and 0dB. 3. Output meter - Audio should average between 0 and +12dB leaving the Tesira. Use the level block preceding the compressor to adjust.

Camera audio input gain should be 0 or perhaps as high as +6
