User Management Information

Introduction

In VALT, there are 3 main ways to manage users.

  1. Local Accounts
  2. LDAP Accounts
  3. SSO Accounts

Local Accounts

Local accounts are created and managed directly on the VALT server. These accounts do not connect to a user's authentication for other applications. This option is best for organizations with a few users, or for organizations that do not utilize Active Directory. Additionally, local accounts can be useful for creating generic logins, such as view-only accounts given to users outside of the organization.


LDAP Accounts

LDAP accounts are managed by the organization's Active Directory outside of the VALT system and then imported into VALT. This option is ideal for any organization wanting to streamline its user management and keep accounts consistent across applications. Single Sign-On Accounts

Single Sign-On accounts are created with the information provided by the organization's Identity Provider. This option is ideal for any organization wanting to keep accounts consistent and speed along the login process.
